IW Best Plants Lower Manufacturing Costs

clip_image001

According to an Industry Week survey of award winning plants, manufacturing costs actually decreased by 5.5% from 2004 to 2008. These numbers include the cost of purchased materials. Very impressive results considering the run up in energy costs last year.

Have your supplier’s passed on price increases? Perhaps they should have held or reduced pricing to their best customers. This information certainly helps set continuous improvement targets for key suppliers.
