CIPS-Malawi Warns Employers On Unqualified Purchasing Agents

CIPS-Malawi has warned employers to refrain from recruiting non-CIPS certified professionals to prevent incidents of fraud and corruption.

“Most, if not all the people implicated in recent corruption scandals are professionals from other fields, and not qualified CIPS professionals,” said Edward Jeke, the organisation’s president-elect.  Jeke warned organisations that recruit procurement officers without the backing of CIPS qualifications that they risk losing millions of kwacha from dishonest people masquerading as professional buyers.
